All I want for X'mas is - to get out of this fucking country

It's Monday the 19th of December 12pm in this bloody hellhole of a village. Samija and I are going straight from this village to Cairo International Airport to get Lu! Yahoooooo! She gets in at about 0045h. Marex gets in the wee hours of 22nd December, so we'll all be in Cairo until then, leaving for Dahab only on the 23rd.

Watched the Arsenal-Chelsea match last night at the Portuguese Club with Scott and Paula, we played some pool, drank some more, watched some American football, drank some more, then continued on to the Athineos where we met up with Samija, Mayssa, Jessie and Nusrat. Mayssa's leaving for Michigan Tuesday, so last night was the last time most of us were meeting up with her! We had more drinks at the Ath, then continued onto Cap D'Or until half three. By that time, our night out had taken on a decidedly 'hen night' atmosphere, as Scott left us at the Ath. We then decided that we needed to continue drinking, so we walked on over to the Sofitel to catch some dodgy belly dancing at Caesar's Palace. However, the bloody Egyptians wanted to charge us a minimum of 70LE per head. We ate up all their carrots and nuts and left. 'Twas actually a really tiring night out with the girls...

So we're planning to do Cairo and Dahab and Alex with Lu and Marex. I'm much too lazy (and really can't be bothered) to go to Aswan and Luxor with Lu but I would strongly advise her to make the trip on her own after I leave on the 6th. I personally don't think that a trip to Egypt would be complete without a trip down to the South.

Since there is no party at the pyramids this year (thanks to some bloody government thing) we've decided to have a 'family' New Year's Eve dinner and party at our place. Some people will still be in this village, so it'll be nice to get together again. I think there'll be Paula, Nu, Scott, maybe Lulu and Laurent and Josh. I suppose that's enough for a party eh?

Samija and I are supposed to be hitting the gym again today...I don't know if this tired body and frustrated mind can take it though, and that afro girl's still asleep.
